Overview

Fruteria Copacabana, nestled at 2316 Highland Ave in National City, CA, offers a vibrant taste of Mexican street food culture with a modern twist. As a juice shop, it stands out by blending fresh, flavorful ingredients into a menu that appeals to both casual snackers and those seeking a heartier bite.

Their menu highlights a range of authentic dishes and refreshing beverages. The Tostilocos come highly recommended—crunchy, spicy, and packed with fresh toppings that create a bold flavor profile. Equally enticing is the Vegetarian Torta, a satisfying sandwich layered with crisp cucumber, lettuce, creamy avocado, and tomato, with cheese optional for an extra touch. This torta is generous in size, making it a filling choice for lunch or dinner.

Fruteria Copacabana also excels with its traditional Mexican snacks like Chamango and Fresas con Crema, alongside fresh ceviche options such as Ceviche de Camaron. These offerings highlight the focus on fresh, high-quality produce and authentic preparation techniques, ensuring each bite bursts with flavor.

The experience here is casual and unpretentious. The shop itself is modest, with limited indoor seating and no outdoor tables, inviting guests to enjoy their order on the go or relish a quick, satisfying meal inside. The service is efficient and friendly, with staff eager to help, making visits smooth even during busy hours. However, planning ahead is wise since it's cash only, and parking can get tricky—especially for newcomers unfamiliar with the area.

What truly sets Fruteria Copacabana apart is its commitment to freshness and variety, catering to a diverse clientele. Whether you’re stopping in for a refreshing agua fresca on a hot day, a light snack, or a hearty meal, this spot delivers. Longtime patrons like Mariah Meow return time and again for the consistent quality, while first-timers appreciate the approachable vibe and tasty offerings.

If you’re in National City and craving a vibrant taste of authentic Mexican street eats with fresh juices and creative snacks, Fruteria Copacabana is a destination worth exploring.

I went in around 9 am, and there was no line. I ordered the vegetarian torta to-go. I didn't pay attention to the size of the torta, but when I went to eat it at lunch, holy moly it was huge. I was full for the rest of the day. The torta had cucumber, lettuce, avacado, tomato, and I paid extra to have cheese. The fruteria is small it has a few small tables inside, no tables outside. Service was fast this time, but durning peak times there is a wait. They are cash only. They offer other snacks and candies. The lady who helped me was friendly.
